What
is the baking time for the scones? Oven temperatures may vary,
however:
Conventional oven at 350 degrees,
baking time is 12 – 18 minutes
Convection oven at 325 degrees,
baking time is 10 – 15 minutes
Can I
use a toaster oven to bake the scones? Yes. It is not our recommended form
of baking, but it can be used. Just make sure you are using a flat piece of
sheet metal to cook on and not the grated metal used for the toast.
How
many scones can you bake at a time? We recommend that you bake one (1)
first to check oven temperature and time. Once you have that established, you
can bake as few or as many at a time.
Do I
need to thaw the scones or cookies before cooking? No, the frozen products should go
straight from the freezer to the preheated oven.
Can I
use a microwave oven to bake the scones? No, you can use the microwave to
reheat the only.
(should take only 5 – 8 seconds)
How
long will the scones and cookies last once they have been baked? The scones will stay fresh for approximately 5 - 8 days. The cookies will stay fresh for approximately 10 days if stored in an airtight container.
Tip: You may freeze the baked scones and reheat in the microwave for 30 - 60 seconds for a fresh hot scone.
What will happen if I brush egg whites or milk on the scones before baking? It gives the scones a golden glow as they bake.
Why
are your scones so small? We wanted to make them small enough
to keep the calorie count down, but large enough that it seemed like a treat.
What
makes Rebecca’s scones and cookies so special? We make them just like you would if
you had the time. All Natural Ingredients, No Dyes or Colors and as close to
Homemade as possible.
Why
are your scones so soft? Rebecca’s scones are Traditional
Fancy English Scones. The others you find in coffee houses and grocery stores are Scottish Scones. Most Scottish scones are hard and crumbly while ours are soft and moist, more cake-like.
Can
the scones be served at other times, rather than with coffee or tea in the
morning? Yes, they make excellent after
school snacks, after dinner parties with coffee, dessert and breakfast bread,
just about any time of the day.
How
long will the scones and cookies last in the freezer? The ‘Use By Date’ is 6 months from
the date of manufacture. If you have a food sealer, you can vacuum seal them and it will extend the ‘Use By Date’
up to one (1) full year.
